Dr Shelley Beatty (B.ED MPH PhD) is an experienced Addiction Studies lecturer and researcher in the School of Exercise, Biomedical and Health Science at Edith Cowan University. She has worked in the education and health sectors for over 20 years. Her previous publications include books, book chapters, research reports, research interventions, and over 20 secondary and tertiary health related educational resources. With Martin Palin, Shelley wrote, Drugs and Your Teenager, which was published by IP Communications in 2000.
Professor Steve Allsop (PhD) has worked in the drug field for over 25 years and been involved in research and professional development for health, police, education, welfare staff and community organisations. In addition to being Director of the National Drug Research Institute (NDRI), Steve is an Adjunct Professor with the Centre for International Health, Division of Health Sciences, Curtin University. He has previously worked as the A/Executive Director, Drug and Alcohol Office, Western Australia, and the Director of the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction, Flinders University. He is a member of the Capital Cities Lord Mayors' Drug Advisory Group, a member of the Board of the Drug and Alcohol Office (WA), and a member of the Commission for Occupational Safety and Health (WA). With Mike Phillips and Carlo Calogero, Steve edited, Drugs and Work, which was published by IP Communications in 2001. Steve has also edited, Drug Use and Mental Health, published by IP Communications in mid-2008. |
